How You Can Legally Get Hundreds Of Free TV Channels

By Lex Nelson

Something you may not know is that it's easy to legally get hundreds of free TV channels. If you've got cable or satellite TV this could mean getting rid of one of your monthly bills. It's also a good idea to have an 'emergency' television system in place just in case your regular TV signal provider isn't working properly. Having free television is a pretty good thing (especially at that price!).

There are three different ways of picking up free television programming and all are discussed on a public service website set up for the purpose of informing the public as to the availability. One with which you might be already familiar is by watching TV on your computer. This is particularly convenient if you have a large computer screen. There are lots of places online that can hook you up to free Internet television.

You can also get free television the old-fashioned way... By sticking an antenna on your house and pulling in the signal from the local broadcast station. You can usually get all the major networks this way (and a whole lot more). This is called 'over-the-air' television.

The signal provided is now high quality digital, which is a big improvement over the old analogue system. Many of the stations are even broadcasting in HD (high definition). This is a good way of tuning into the major TV network channels.

Finally there is FTA satellite reception. FTA, which stands for 'free-to-air', will require your purchase of a special receiver to tune in the digital satellite signal but these are inexpensive and easy to install. FTA will allow you to get 100's of channels from all over the globe.

Free TV channels are a great way to enlarge your entertainment options by adding topical and diverse programming choices. It provides a good backup system to a cable or satellite system and, if you're not so into the premium channels, can even replace your existing service. You might want to consider looking into it. - 33366
